Dear Friend of Coupeville Schools,

In this complex and changing world of ours, it is comforting to know there is a tangible and easy way to make a real difference.  You can support the Community Foundation for Coupeville Public Schools.

This yer, we are asking you to help us meet our fundraising goal of $5000 by considering a gift to expand our work for the Coupeville Public Schools.  Our foundation is a private, non-profit organization, with an active board of community volunteers.  We support the "extra measure" of resources for the schools with 97% of all donations going directly to our schools and, therefore, our kids.  Support from people like you enabled sixth grade students to attend a preformance of "The Hundred Dresses" at the Seattle Children's Theatre last February.  Some of these students, like Randy, age 12, had never seen a live play before.

The Coupeville Foundation for Public Schools, supporting all of Coupeville's schools has, in the past year:

  • Provided over $11,000 in mini-grants to teachers which enabled students in our schools to attend field trips to places such as:
    - the Seattle Children's Theatre (middle school students)
    - Central Washington University's Chimpanzee Communication Institute (high school students.
    - Camp Casey's Sea Lab (elementary students)
  • Provided funding for new equipment such as three document cameras for history projects and a new computer for the yearbook team.
  • Offered support to low income youth by paying for such items as tuition for the college prep University of Washington English class offered to our high school seniors and for middle and high school drama and sports fees.
  • Provided five $500 to $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors in June, 2008.

With your gift, we can help to ensure that all Coupeville students have equal access to educational opportunities that will enhance their learning as well as equal participation in valuable extra curricular opportunities, like middle and high school drama and sports.

A gift of $100 could fund:

  • three student's drama fees
  • half of an elementary school field trip to Camp Casey's Sea Lab
  • one-third of the tuition for the college prep UW English class offered at CHS
  • annual supplies for our Learning Partner's Program

I hope you can join us in this drive to raise funds to support our elementary, middle and high school students.  We welcome gifts of all levels and we encourage you to become a member or renew your membership.

Please explore our website and learn more about who we are, what we do, and how you can help.

Best Regards,

Anne Harvey, Board President
