In the 8th grade Community/Service/Connection class, one student project is to create a demonstration prairie in front of the greenhouse at the school with the help from Au Sable Institute and their prairie reconstructionists.  Students will complete site prep, plant prairie plants and design an informative sign to be posted by the site. Money is needed to purchase prairie plants, seeds and soil at reduced cost from Au Sable.

Au Sable Institute's Rober Pelant is donating his time to teach students about the importance of prairies and help in plant selection.  A wooden informative sign will be made to credit the students who installed the prairie site and Au Sable Institute for their assistance in creating the site.  Prairie plants will also be identified.
