Marine Biology students from CHS will travel to the Port Townsend Marine Science Center for a class on grey whale skeletal anatomy. This course will be taught by a local scientist working at the PTMSC and is a hands-on opportunity for students to learn about our largest local mammal. Students will compare several types of toothed and baleen whales and assemble a complete skeleton of a 24-foot gray whale. They will discuss how the skeletal structure of whales has changed over time to allow them to exploit the range of food and habitat resources of the world's oceans. For more information on the science center, go to http://www.ptmsc.org/
