Many projects in freshman and sophomore English classes require the development of Public Service Announcements and other video products.  These projects are instrumental in developing a real-world application to studies in English and literture. 

The camera's used by the English department use Digital 8 tapes.  Often, students use their own cameras which are newer than the schools.  In order to make use of the student's work, it is necessary to have at least one Mini-DV camera to act as a go-between from the student tape to the computer.  This grant provides the funds to purchase one such camera.
