HiQ is an academic competition similar to the GE College Bowl.  Teams from area high schools compete in team matches challenging students to answer questions in areas as diverse as art history, physics, mathematics, world history, and Shakespeare.

In the past four years, the Coupeville HiQ team has made the playoffs every year and finished third in the state twice.  This year, because of budget constraints, the district had to lower its support for the team and did not provide enough money for the registration fee for the team.  This funding will help offset the loss of support from the district.
